What Does An Itchy Rash On The Forehead Indicate?

I have extremely itchy, prickly feeling skin on my forehead with a rash, especially in my eyebrows. Not near any poison, no bug bites. This is the 2nd time in about a month I ve had it. It does go away, but drives me crazy. Last time I had welts on my belly and chest....none now though. I used cortisone ointment and it helped. But I d love to have a root cause..........any suggestions?? No new soaps, creams or makeup either!

Hello,

I can understand your concern. The description of the issue leads to the provisional diagnosis of allergic reaction only. Although you have not changed anything in your routine, there seems to be a substance that you are allergic to and when you come in contact with that substance, you get this reaction.

I suggest that you take Antihistamine such as Levocetrizine 5 mg (Levocet) Or Loratidine 10 mg (Lorfast) once a day for 5-7 days. You can also apply the cortisone ointment that helped you last time. However, after the reaction subsides and medicines course is over, wait for 2 weeks and then go for a blood test for allergy. It will analyze what substances you are allergic to so that you can reach the root cause and avoid their exposure in future.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
