Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does An Open Lesion Below The Left Areola Indicate?
I have a small open lesion below ( came up after monthly cycle,I m also only 20 years old )my left Areola, and I squeezed it and blood and some little pearl like things came out with clear liquid also. I wanted to know could it be a blocked sebaceous gland,or maybe a boil of some sort,it s also a bit red and slightly tender, but less after I squeezed it.
In my opinion, this small lesion below your left areola might be subareolar breast abscess. This is an infected lump that occurs below areola, it's a local infection caused by bacteria and it's common.
I suggest you consult a doctor for a physical examination. Generally, antibiotic treatment is required.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Suela Gjata,
