What Does An Oval Red Lump On The Penis Indicate?

I have an oval shaped lump on the lower part of the shaft of my penis. It s hardly red, doesn t hurt, and not super large but it s there and it s scary. Will it go away? Must i see a doctor? It could ve appeared after I shaved there or masturbated. But it s been there for a week and i don t know what to do.

Hello,

I would prescribe an oral anti-parasitic drug like Ivermectin. Ivermectin 12mg tablet should be taken empty stomach with a gap of 15 days which will kill the parasite in a very efficient way.

You should also apply permethrin 5% cream. Permethrin cream should be applied at night below neck onwards to cover whole body and should be rinsed off next day in morning with lukewarm water. Repeat application is usually not required.

Make sure everyone in your family and close physical contact should apply permethrin in a similar way.

Next day onwards apply a mometasone with fusidic acid cream twice a day over lesions on genitals for 10-15 days.

Avoid sharing of clothing and toiletries and launder all your bedding and clothes in warm water.
