What Does An Ultrasound Showing Small Sac During Pregnancy Indicate?
Hello Doctor, this is my first pregnancy. I had home test as positive. last week I had a scan doctor told that you are pregnant. In my report mentioned as found small sac in scan. I was confussed little.. is every thing is normal. doctor advised to take medicines as folic acid, duphaston and aspirin. can you guide me plz. is everything normal??
As per my clinical experience, the ultrasound report is indicative of early pregnancy most likely. It is the level of developmental stage of the embryo which reveals particular size of the sac after implantation.
A small sac, does not mean that baby is not developing normally or other problems, it is the term used for early pregnancy contents. However, it is the periodic follow up scans which will give you precise track record of the fetal growth with beta HCG level rise and other physical changes.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
