General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is suggestive of abnormally low sperm motility. Fertility depends upon the total motility (active and progressive) of the sperms. As per WHO (2010) the total sperm motility should be more than 40% to cause fertilization of the egg. Based on the report of semen analysis of your husband, the sperm motility is 35% which is low (asthenozoospermia) and hence advised intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) which is a test-tube fertilization procedure in which a sperm is injected directly into an egg to achieve fertilization.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
