I had a routine blood work and urine sample They say I have bacteria in my urine. What could cause this I have no pain what so ever I urinate 3 to 4 times a day once a night around 6am I go to bed around 11:30 so just before alarm goes off. If I drink to much coffee, urine is darker. I can count how much I drink alcoho,l on one hand, in a year, seldom drink tea or soda. my bowl movement is good. I do not take any meds but do have sarcoidosis and made appointment with Urologist. Should this matter be urgent?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Usually urine is free from bacteria. If bacteria is there and puss cells are more it is an indication of urinary tract infection and such case urine culture and sensitivity test will be helpful to choose appropriate antibiotic. Thanks.
