Hello,
The
basal ganglia calcification is not related to his symptom. It is not something which has built up during these last weeks, it has been there for a long time. It may be a born issue, may be due to an old issue such as a past infection, may also be due to some metabolic conditions for which some blood tests are needed consulting a
neurologist, but it is not an urgent issue and not related to headache.
Headache is the most common symptom in
encephalitis, it may persist for a while so unless it is increasing in intensity and frequency I would give it some time. As for the
C reactive protein it is raised in any type of infection, a value of 17 is not that high, if during the hospital it is to be expected. If it was after discharge then it must be interpreted in comparison to prior measurements as well, if it was higher in the hospital and it is lowering you shouldn't worry.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
Regards,
Dr. Olsi Taka, Neurologist
