Hello, i have just been for ultra sound scan, and have been told i have a lesion on the liver, i have been in a lot of pain around the lower back and abdomen. Yesterday I noticed a large dark black bruise on back of leg begind knee that has just appeared, is this likely to be connected? I have been for blood tests today.
Black bruise behind knee associated with discomfort and pain can result from Baker's cyst or deep vein thrombosis. With both of the above conditions you may experience pain, swelling and bruising behind the knee and calf. Bruising may indicates serious medical condition like vitamin C or K deficiency, bleeding disorders such as hemophilia, Von Willebrand disease, or cancer.
You are suggested to apply ointment Thrombophob on the area affected so that inflammation and blood clots can get reduced. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get required tests and investigations done so that the pathology is detected and treatment started at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
