What Does Bleeding During 8 Week Of Pregnancy Suggest?
I m 8 weeks gestation. My husband and I had sex for the first time on Friday and I bled A LOT down there. All of what we read on it says that a little bleeding is normal, and to go to the ER if there s cramping. There s little to no cramping, and the bleeding stopped within a day, but I ve been discharging as if I m at the end of my period (brown, fleshy blood clots and mucus). How much is A LITTLE and how much is A LOT of blood? How long is the discharge supposed to continue? And my first OB appointment is scheduled for Monday, but should I go to the ER anyway? Thank you.
Hormonal bleeding is when some women experience a light bleed at around four to eight weeks of pregnancy, or around the time their period would have been due. This can be very confusing for women who are pregnant and is the reason many women do not realize they are pregnant for a while. Again, it is totally normal.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashwani Kumar, General & Family Physician
