What Does Bleeding From Roof Of Mouth Indicate?

Hi there I was just wondering can allergies cause the roof of your mouth to bleed? Because right behind my front teeth have been sore all day and when I was brushing my teeth I realized there was a good amount of blood the came out when spitting but the front of my gums weren't bleeding so I grabbed a clean wash cloth and stuck it on the roof of my mouth and when I looked at it there was a few tiny spots of pink so I was just wondering if it is allergy related or something else?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

Small pink sore spots on the roof of the mouth can be due to a few reasons and any irritation or injury to them can lead to bleeding.

It can be due to allergy to any food item or any medicine if you are taking.

It can also be due to bacterial or viral infection, it can also be due to throat infection if you are having throat infection right now or had a few days back..

The other cause can be Cold Sores caused by Herpes Simplex Virus. It can be transmitted sexually if you have any sexual exposure or can be due to sharing contaminated utensils or food with infected individuals.

It can also be due to accidental intake of very hot food causing inflammation on the roof of the mouth hence causing bleeding.

In case you have repeated episodes of bleeding and the small lesions does not heal you should consult a doctor to get evaluated for the case of the problem and treatment can be decided according to the diagnosis..

If you think it is due to allergy gargles with 1:1 solution of milk of magnesia and benadryl liquid can help.

For soreness and pain application of numbing agents like orabase gel can be done.

Warm saline gargles can be helpful.

For bacterial infections Antibiotics can provide relief..

In case of cold sores caused by herpes virus oral and topical antiviral drugs are helpful.

Hope your query is solved..
