What Does Bloating Sensation After Mid Day Meal Indicate?
For about 4 weeks after my Mid-day meal I have felt squeamish, full of wind and bloated. I do remember a Specialist telling me some years ago after examination I had Diviculitis. Could this be the reason for these symptoms. Oh food intake--On average -Breakfast -2 eggs on 2 small slices of toast, Lunch, 2 Sandwiches -Dinner- 2 Grilled Chops or 3 Slices of Meat with Vegetables --Desert -Fruit -- Middle of night -Cup of Tea and 2 biscuits
Your diet is perfectly alright. Your bloating sensation may be caused by peptic ulcer disease, esophageal ulcer, gastroesophageal reflux, diverticulitis, and hiatus hernia. I would suggest the following for those who come to my clinic with similar symptoms tab Rabeprazole with Domperidone daily once for 4 weeks to be taken before food.
Avoid lying down immediately after eating. There must be at least 2 hours between food and sleep. Avoid increase in intraabdominal pressure like chronic coughing. If your symptoms don't go away with the above treatment, you need to go to a gastroenterologist for further evaluation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Richa Agarwal, OBGYN
