What Does Breast Tenderness And Discharge In A Menopausal Women Suggest?

I am a 49 year old who has been menopausal for 5 years. I have been experiencing a variety of ailments. Today my left breast became sore and tender and I am lactating. I weaned my daughter 10 years ago. About 4 years ago I experienced the same but without tenderness. The soreness is localized.

Hi,

Breast tenderness and discharge in a post menopausal female requires detailed examination. It may be due to a lump in your breast. Physical examination followed by few investigations are necessary to come to a definitive diagnosis. Kindly contact your OBGYN as soon as possible. The following may be the reasons
1) Fibroadenoma breast
2) Fibroadenosis
3) Any malignant lump

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
