What Does Brown Vaginal Discharge After Menstruation Indicate?

Okay, so I had unprotected sex on July 24th, 2017, very close to ovulation. My period was 4 days late, but it still came on. It started on July 7th, ended on July 13th. My next period came on, on August 7th, ended on August 11th. As of yesterday, August 23rd, I experienced gooey, bloody discharge that hung from my vagina. (SORRY FOR THE TMI!!) Today, August 24th, there was lotion-like brown discharge in my panties. (Btw, it is my fertile/ovulating week) What could this be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and welcome to `Ask A Doctor` service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

* The thick brown vaginal discharge indicates possible vaginal infection
more likely than peri ovulation hormone induced secretions.

* My guidelines

- Drink more liquids.
- Wear loose, clean, cotton inner wears.
- Avoid vaginal sex.
- Sitz bath with gentian violet 2-3 times a day.
- Consult your OBGY as per the need.

Wish you fine health.
Take care.
