Hi, my son is an alcoholic but is now in detox because he feels he is not going to live much longer if he don t. He hasn t had a drink of alchol in almost a week. Today he started throwing up brown water it d oesn t seem to have a odor. He has throwed up twice today. He says it is bile and that he will feel better tomorrow he is also atype 1 diabetic. My question is should we be getting to the emergrency room or is this something alcholics go through. Thank- you

Browne vomitus may be blood from ulcer or esophageal varices. Please avoid spicy food and alcohol. Use tablet Nexiumbefore breakfast for one week. If symptoms not improved please consult your Gastroentrologist he will do endoscopy and treat you accordingly.
