General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understood your query & concern. - Yes, exaggerated sexual activities along with carelessness about genital hygiene can lead to genital infection( Though not STD)- which you already had. - The swelling in your groin can be explained on the ground of lymph nodes draining the vagina being involved in the infection. -Now, swelling on left side of vagina is also due to the infection of Bartholin's glands -situated in side walls of vagina. * You should get vaginal swab testing done to know the exact bacteria involved & the sensitive antibiotic to get rid of it. - some time treatment of both sex partners becomes essential, - bartholin abscess needs treatment with medicines & surgical drainage , * to be in touch with a gynecologist is advised for getting suitable advise. & follow up. Thanks.
