What Does Burning Blister Turned Open Wound On The Back Of Arm Suggest?

Hello. I noticed the other day I had a quarter size swollen spot on the back on the back of my arm. It felt like a burn with a shock. Tge skin there was forming a blister. Now almost a week later it is an open wound which still feels like a burn. I have no idea where it came from or what it is. Any help would be great.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

1. A photograph of the wound is much appreciated for a more precise answer.
2. The wound you are reporting is an infection of hair follicle (possible abscess).

I advise to:
- wash with warm water and soap
- rinse it well
- apply oxygenated and iodine locally
- apply antibiotic cream you find over the counter

If the wound won't improve within a few days, should consult with dermatologist as you might need oral prescription antibiotics.

All the best!
