What Does Burning Sensation And Discoloration On The Skin Indicate?

Hi I recently went to Mexico and I applied sunscreen on my daughter s face daily. 50 but she then felt like it was burning so I purchased a roll on acinacreen for her. Since then I noticed a discoloration in her skin ... a small patch on her cheek and one around her lip.. should I be worried and is there anything I can do

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per our query you have symptoms of burning sensation and discoloration on the skin which is due to excessive production of melanin pigment from melanocyte due to excessive sun exposure and it could be due to hormonal changes and side effects of cosmetic products.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to stop using all the cosmetic products that you are using at present , start washing face with wash containing benzoyl peroxide with cold water and apply cream containing kojic acid ( kojivit ) after washing area twice a day. Exfoliate your face twice a week to remove dead skin and use sunscreen for oily skin only when under sun exposure and apply aloe vera gel at night before going to bed . If condition doesn't improve in a month then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation . Doctor may prescribe isotretinoin, retinoids and recommend procedure like chemical peeling and laser therapy .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
