What Does Burning Sensation In The Anus During Defecation Indicate?

When I poop, around the anus it burns horribly, like pouring alcohol in an open wound. Also along my scar from my episiotomies it burns and feels like keloids. Once it s inflamed even my pee when it runs down feels like the alcohol on an open wound. I get some relief from using a topical corticosteroids but it is temporary. What is going on? I can t take this anymore and I don t know who to go to to get an answer.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Burning sensation in the anus during defecation may be due to fissure or fistula or hemorrhoids or hard stools, etc. It may be due to keloid inflammation. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Eat high fiber diet and regular exercise. Use Benefiber or Metamucil for bulk formation of stools. Use syrup Lactulose after dinner for five days. You may need keilodectomy in case of severe inflammation or local steroid injection may useful. If symptoms do not improve, please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly. Take care.
