What Does Busting Of Veins In Brain With Blockage Of Blood Supply To Brain Suggest?

I understand that one of my cousins had a bust of vein in her head which blocked her blood supply to her brain. As a result, she has died and currently on life suppoort until an orgon donation procedure has been completed.
What is this condition calls? Why the doctor's could not do anything to reverse her condition?
