What Does Cerebral Volume Loss In An MRI Indicate?
Hello, I recently had a repeat brain MRI done as diagnostic for MS symptoms that have been ongoing and progressive, including spacial deficit, numbness, decreased strength, stuffening etc. The MRI showed cerebral volumn loss. Also something regarding white matter. Can you explain this to me? I am a veteran patient and it is very difficult to get appts in an kind of timely fashion so I am going crazy

The changes in the white matter are very likely white plaques that are typical of the changes that happen with MS. Brain volume loss means that there is some atrophy happening in the brain, probably some nerves and other cells in the brain are dying and causing the brain to show less volume in MRI.
