What Does Chest Pain And Tingling Sensation In The Arms Indicate?

Trying to determine if I had a heart attack this week.(Tuesday) Gripping pain in chest and between shoulder blades in my back. After several hours of intense chest pain, I took 2 Bayer aspirin. Within 20 minutes the pain went mostly away and I went to sleep. Also, Tingling down both arms and residual discomfort in chest remains. I’ve been a speed walker for years and am 73 years old. I have no problem whipping off 13,000 to 16,000 steps per day if I wish. Normal days are 8,000 to 10,000. My PC says I can take 2 meloxicam daily. I take 1/2 of one because it is a nasty drug. Don’t like meds. I am 5’6 and weigh 139 lbs. tomorrow hopefully I can have an EKG if I can get into my Doctor. My Fitbit HR usually is 58 to 62 resting. Now it spikes to 108 and I check it because I start sweating. it is freezing outside and I usually don’t sweat. I live in the mountains and not recommended I travel on these roads tonight.

Hello,

In my opinion, we should definitely rule out heart diseases for your symptoms. Chest pain, sweating, rapid heart rate et cetera is more suggestive of heart related pain.

So, get done blood pressure monitoring, ECG, 2d echo and stress test (trade mill test). If all these are normal, then no need to worry for heart diseases.

Sometimes stress and anxiety can also cause similar symptoms. So, avoid stress and tension, be relaxed and calm. Don't worry; you will be alright but first rule out heart diseases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar
