What Does Chest X Ray Showing III Defined Densites Seen In Upper Lung Mean?

3 years ago my friend completed already her medication for 6 mos. on ptb, now she have my chest x-ray result again and the remarks Ill defined densities are seen in the upper lung field superimposed on the osseous structure it is possible that the ptb of my friend is currently active doc.?

Hello

Ill defined densities in upper lobe may indicate infection,fibrosis etc.
It may be due to pneumonitis or recurrent tuberculosis etc.
Empirically your friend may be prescribed antibiotics.
Patient may also need follow up chest X-ray.
I also suggests for apico-lordotic view of chest X-ray.It is a special view to view apical areas because apical areas are covered by ribs,clavicle etc.This special view overcome this overlying bony problem and it helps in better estimation of apical lesions.
