What Does Chronic Ischemic And Involutional Changes Without Acute Intracranial Process Mean?

If a person had the following results from a CT Brain W/O Contrast, could that explain dementia type symptoms?

REPORT:

Technique· Multiple contiguous axial imaging was obtained of the brain without contrast

Findings: No intracranial hemorrhage, mass effect, or extra-axial fluid collections. Penventricular and deep white matter minimal hypodensities are present Gray-white differentiation is maintained. Global parenchymal mild volume loss is present without hydrocephalus or midline shift. The visualized paranasal sinuses and mastoid air cells are aerated Regional osseous and soft tissue structures are intact.

IMPRESSION: Chronic ischemic and involutional changes without acute intracranial process.

Welcome to Health care magic.

1.The report shows normal findings for a person of aged over 55years age.
2.There are chronic ischemic changes seen in the most of the individuals over a age. these are due to the systemic diseases suffering from ( diabetes, hypertension, vascular diseases) and also age related gradual occlusion of the small vessels.
3.Rest of the findings - there is no mass effect ( no lesions), different brain tissue differentiation maintained, volume loss is another entity - also age related changes. ( in young -its seen with chronic alcoholism, addictions, brain diseases)
4.All nasal sinus are normal, bones in the scan appears normal.
5.There is no acute process which seeks your attention. control all systemic causes.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
