What Does Chronic Pain In The Neck Indicate?

I have had chronic neck pain for months and in one particular area at the top of my neck, when it is touched, it is extremely tender and I literally jump when it is slightly touched. Any ideas? I ve tried acupuncture with no results. I usually ice it or put heat but that is so temporary. Thank you.

Hello
The exact site of pain has to be known, to know the cause of pain. Weather it is neurological, muscular pain, it has to be ruled out. Apply some heat over the place and take some pain killers. Go for USG neck to rule out any underlying pathology or muscle absess, if any.
