What Does Chronic Pain In The Shoulders, Neck And Head Indicate?

I have had chronic pain in my shoulders, neck, and head and well as upper back for the past 2 weeks now. I have also had a heart rate in the 120s. Elevated Troponin levels not exceeding 0.88. I have had slightly elevated blood pressure. EKG and echoes come back clear. What could be causing this?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In my opinion, you should get done stress test (trade mill test) and stress echo to rule out heart diseases. It is quite possible that despite of heart diseases, resting EKG and 2D echo can be normal. So TMT (trade mill test) and stress echo are very useful in these kind of situations. If your TMT or stress echo is abnormal then you will need coronary angiography and angioplasty (if required). If stress echo and TMT are normal then possibility of musculoskeletal pain is more likely. So apply warm water pad on affected areas, take simple painkiller like Paracetamol or Ibuprofen. Don't worry, you will be alright.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
