What Does Clicking Noise In The Head After An Accident Indicate?

I have a clicking noise in my head (brain?). I was in a car accident, all the air bags went off at once. My earring was damaged, had two shots into ear drums, helping a little but still had to get hearing aides. I, also, got tinnitus at the same time. The clicking is not consistent in that it is two or three and then Quiet for a while but consistent that it happens all day. There is no pain, just irritating. Do you have Any idea?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You may be suffering from trauma induced tinnitus. Patients whose tinnitus is associated with head or neck injuries seek medical attention sooner than other tinnitus patients. One possible explanation is that tinnitus caused by head or neck injury soon becomes a severe tinnitus is that it is hard to cope with. When tinnitus grows gradually in strength over years, the patients are better able to develop coping strategies, according to the researchers. Also check for counter croup injury to the head lead to tinnitus. Please consult your physician /ENT specialist and get it done MRI brain, hemoglobin ear examination then they will treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
