What Does Congestive Heart Failure Mean And Does It Induce Sleep?

my father has a very bad heart, massive attack 31 years ago has a difibulator recently had a ablation. he has gone downhill in the last 3-4 days. they say he has congestive heart failure. is he suffering? he seems to be sleeping a lot , incoherent when awake

Inability to meet the demand is failure.
Heart I not able to pump enough blood – Heart Failure
Here, this is from loss of muscle due to heart attack.

Sleepiness is probably from reduced blood flow to brain from failure.
Drugs may also be contributing
Discuss with treating doctor - for more possibilities
