General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Your daughter seems to have pain in her outer ankle region, it could be due to ligament sprain, muscle or tendon inflammation or joint involvement.
The cause would be clear after specific local examination/MR (if needful.)
I of the joint to be followed by specific treatment/physiotherapy. Consult an orthopedic surgeon.
Till then she should take rest, hot/cold pack/over the counter pain medicine like Ibuprofen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale,
