What Does Constant Pain In The Groin Area Indicate?

Good evening and thank you for being available. I have started to feel a constant pain in my left lower (groin) region (I think that s where it s at... it s below my belly button. It s a contact sharp pain and has not gone away in 2 weeks, if anything it seems to be getting more noticeable and uncomfortable. Pain meds aren t helping. I believe I had a urinary tract infection for a lengthy time, but do not have insurance so never went. What do you think it might be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your clinical history is concerned, please follow like this:

1) Do a physical examination by your treating Doctor [urologist] and do few investigations like [Urine RE/ME/CULTURE, Ultrasound whole abdomen, and Cystoscopy].

2) Discuss about treatment plan as per pathological findings only.

Do follow few lifestyle modifications like this:

1) Drink plenty of liquids, especially water.

2) Urinate frequently. If you feel the urge to urinate, don't delay using the toilet.

3) Take showers rather than tub baths. If you're susceptible to infections, showering rather than bathing may help prevent them.

4) Empty your bladder as soon as possible after intercourse. Drink a full glass of water to help flush bacteria.

5) Try to avoid using deodorant sprays or feminine products in the genital area. These products can irritate the urethra and bladder.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
