What Does Contamination In This Urine Culture Report Mean?

Hi. I am 25 weeks pregnant and my urine culture report shows the following results: Sample Urine Microscopic Examination Pus cels: 1-2 (Refrence range: 0-6 /HPF) RBC: 0-2 (Refrence range: 0-3 /HPF) Epithelia cels: Ocasional (Refrence range: Ocasional/HPF) Bacteria: (Refrence range: Nil/HPF) Culture Result Growth ofthre types ofgram negative bacil (100, 100,100 cfu/ml) and two types ofgram positve coci ( 100 cfu/ml).Indicates contamination. What does this mean?

Hi, thanks for writing.. Contamintion means it contains more than 1 organism which might be due to improper collection of urine or unsterile both which might contain bacteria. In this case a urine routine should be repeated in a sterile bottle with a midstream clean catch. Hope I have answered your query. good day.
