What Does Cramps And Heavy Bleeding After Stopping Ginette 35 Tablets Suggest?

Hello Doctor, I am 30 yrs old, and have been diagnosed with PCOS. I was having continuous bleeding last month, and my doctor prescribed meprate 10 mg for 10 days.. Soon after i got my periods, and from the 2nd day i was adviced to take ginette35 (Oral contraceptive) tablets, once a day for 21 days. I started experiencing severe cramps during the daytime and bleeding was minimal. The 21 days course is over, and after that the cramps went away but i am experiencing heavy bleeding since last 3 days. It s almost 27 days now that the bleeding has not stopped. It was little during the 21 days of tablet, but heavy now. Kindly advice.

Ginette 35 tablet contains both ethinyl estradiol and cryproterone which is used to treat symptoms of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) like excessive hair growth, acnes as well as irregular periods and to prevent unwanted pregnancies from unprotected sexual intercourses. Some side effects are common like irregular uterine bleeding, abdominal cramps, breakthrough bleeding or spotting between periods, vaginal bleeding etc., during treatment with Ginette tablets.

After stop taking Ginette tablets, most Ginette users will experience withdrawal bleeding within 2-4 weeks. After cessation of withdrawal bleeding, your natural menstrual cycle will come back. This cycle may be longer or heavier than Ginette induced withdrawal bleeding. If this bleeding duration persist for long or bother you, then you should visit your doctor promptly for medical consultation and further evaluation.
