What Does Decrease In Marrow Signal On MRI Suggest?
I had an mri done in 2010 and stated mild anterior spondylosis. Minimal posterior spur is seen just right of midline. C7-T1 no abnormalityis present.
Follow up mri done feb 2011. On T1 weighting note is made that the marrow signal. Is particularly decreased. Marrow space pathology needs to be considered. Hematopietic abnormalities need to be considered. AP alignment is intact and there are no compression fractures. There is no discitis or osteomyletis. There is no chiari malformation and cord size and signal is normal.
C2-3 essentially normal
C3-4 there is at least moderate bony foraminal narrowing bilaterally without significant central stenosis.
C4-5 there is mild to moderate left foraminal narrowing and mild right foraminal narrowing without significant central stenosis.
C5-6. There is a disc bulge without significant central stenosis. There is mild foraminal narrowing.
C6-7 there is a central disc herniation with some flattening of the anterior aspect of the thecal sac. The foramina are patent without significant central stenosis.
C7-T1 there is no significant central stenosis and the foramina are patent.
My concern is the dark spots and the concern with the marrow signal. What does this mean?
I had a full blood panel done middle of november 2010 and everything was. Normal. This also includes a negative hiv test. They are wanting to send me to a hemotologist/oncology doctor and a neurologist. Any I deas what I could be facing?
