OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question. Degenerating decidual tissue means that the decidua which is the lining of the pregnant uterus, which nourishes the conception in early gestation has degenerated, means lost its vitality. It can be a cause of miscarriage in your case. Chorionic villi may not be seen due to only a selective part of the conceptus was pathologically examined or it was a blighted ovum, in which the fetus is not formed.
The cause of early miscarriage is most commonly chromosomal anomalies in the fetus, and the incidence is increased as the maternal age advances.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
