What Does Degenerative Disc Disease With Bulging Mean?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I had a fusion done on C-5 & C-6. All has been good for the last year. Out of nowhere, I woke up with a severe pain on the left side of my neck. My doctor sent me for an MRI. The report says there is a mild degenerative disc disease at C-6 & C-7 with disc bulge asymmectric to the left. Can you please explain what this means? I'm still having pain. HELP!
