General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Delayed periods with pain and clotting are indicative that the uterine lining sheds increased amounts of blood. Clots get formed when the blood pools in the uterus and coagulates. If you are not comfortable taking Ogestrel, then you can inform your treating doctor so that medicine that suits you better can be given. Ogestrel is a combination hormone medication used to prevent pregnancy.

Medical conditions that may cause such symptoms are anemia, PCOS, thyroid problems, cysts, polyps, hormonal imbalance, etc. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist, get blood analysis and imaging tests done. Get treated at the earliest. In the meantime, take food rich in iron, calcium, magnesium, protein, etc. You can take supplements also. Take Uterine tonics, take home made balanced nutritious diet to improve your general health.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
