What Does Dilation Of Fallopian Tube In The HSG Report Suggest?

i had hsg today, the findings are uterine cavity was clear,no filling defect was noted,only a short segment of the right fallopian tube is opacified.no contrast spillage is shown on the right side.small diverticula are noted in the proximal left fallopian tube.bulbous dilatation of the left distal fallopian tube is noted.free spillage of contrast medium into the peritoneal cavity could be shown on the left side.delayed film showed no abnormal loculation on contrast medium.please help me understand, and what is the best thing to do with it.thanks, lin

hi, dr boskey gandhi here, in h.s.g test, dye is injected from uterus & it should spillage in pelvic cavity via fallopian tube normally. in your case, on left side spillage is present, but on rt side no spillage, so it May be blockage in rt fallopian tube, now for identification of blockage, laparoscopy is more adviceble. so good luck.
