Hello, I am trying to understand my MRI results. As it says I have a central disc posterior buldge or broad based protrusion at c5-6 which may slightly flatten the anterios service of the cord, completely effacing the CSF both anterior and prosterior, Minor disc osteophyte complets at C2-3 and c3-4. Moderate left forminal stenosis at c2-3 with mild right forminal steosis at c3-4. Otherwise no other secgificant forminal stenosis. Minor degnerative facet joint changes at c6-7 and c7-t1.
Flattening of the anterior cord due to a central disc protrusion at t8-9 and left eccentric central disc protrusion at t9-10, a broad based protrusion at t10-11, with a herniated componenet in the right paracentral to for forminal region with potential masc effect against the right t11 nerve root. Heriniated disc at t11-12, Small right foraminal disc protrustion at L1-2 without definite impingement of the right L1 nerve root.
Would appreciate an Idea of what this means.
welcome to Health care magic. 1.Osteophytes are seen in degenerative diseases - it could be age related and excessive usage ( physically hard working individual involving weights and so on). 2.Osteophytes are bony out growth - which are seen causing pressure effect on the spinal chord / theca sac in your case at different levels. 3.There id disc herniation noted at different levels - and seen the indenting in the foramen with nerve compression. 4.Dise also seen causing pressure effect on the theca sac / spinal chorus at different levels. 5.The treatment in this case could be simple exercises followed by physiotherapy and finally an operative procedure / intervention - depending on the severity of the symptoms. Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
