What Does Discomfort In The Neck And Chest Indicate?

Hi, i woke up with an uncomfortable feeling in my neck and chest. both on the right side of center. nothing hurts, but it feels like there is a piece of food stuck in my throat and my chest. it does not hurt to breathe at all,but i feel something when i breathe in and out. i have tried drinking liquids, antacids, just sitting and relaxing.when i swallow it does hurt very mildly, enough to make me uncomfortable, my husband says go to see the doctor, i wanted to see if it goes away in a few days, i went to bed last night with no issues, when i woke up? this happened? any ideas? thank you very much,,,,Kim

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If you were my patient, I would prefer a cardiac examination first in order to rule out any possible cardiac origin. On finding the cardiac examination report OK, I would see what to do next.

You can see a cardiologist and do an ECG,a cardiac sonography and some blood test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anila Skenderi
