What Does Echogenic Area Measuring 1.4 Cm Indicate?
I had an ultrasound done because I had a pain on my right side underneath my ribs. Gallbladder came back normal but the neck of my pancreas came back with a "questionable" echogenic area measuring 1.4cm. Could that be a gallstone? I'm supposed to get a CT scan and I do have an appt with a GI specialist.
welcome to Health care magic. 1.It seems to be there is an echogenic ( white on ultrasound)area in the head. 2.For confirmation what it is, you have to get an CECT (contrast enhanced computer tomography) 3.No i don't think it is gallstone, any stone on the CBD / MPD shows particular symptoms with dilatation of the duct pre and post obstruction / calculus. 4.Good you have CT planned and a specialist - CT will give you definitive diagnosis.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health. Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.
