What Does Echogenic Nodule In The Below Test Report Suggest?

Can you explain the following: there is a stable echogenic nodule in the right hepatic lobe which measures 1.3 x 1.3 x 1.4 most consistent with a stable hemangioma? Also, there are three suspected hemangiomata within the spleen, the largest measuring 2.2 cm in transverse dimension?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The scan report shows presence of a nodule in liver as well as in the spleen.
Nodule is a term used for well-defined lesions in body.
The nodule in the liver is most probably a hemangioma.
Hemangioma is a benign tumor arising from blood vessels.
A hemangioma can cause compression or pressure effects on the surrounding tissue or it can rupture.
However, the hemangioma in the liver is described as stable implying that it is unlikely to cause any complication.
Thus, the liver hemangioma can be followed up without any surgical intervention.
There are three nodules in the spleen also largest of which is 2.2 cm in diameter.
These nodules are also suspicious of hemangioma.
Presence of multiple hemangiomas in various organs like liver, spleen and kidney is a common finding.
These hemangiomas also need to be followed up without any active intervention.
You may consult your surgeon with the report and for further follow up.

Thanks and take care
