Was in hospital 15 days & then nursing home for 7 more to finish IV antibiotics. Was having trouble with my heart rate being up to 120 after rest of 70 s this occurred after 20 footsteps. So my heart doc did heart Cath on the 30th of Nov & found nothing that way. Since then been sick in bed & today I walked same 20 steps & now my heart rate went up to 150. Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Increased heart rate also called as Tachycardia has many reason.
These can be mainly divided into 2 categories.
The first cause can be Psychological and another an actual disease that can be diagnosed by proper clinical history and investigations.
Since you are a known case of pneumonia, Septic problems, and you were admitted to a hospital for a long time under treatment.
COPD can raise the heart rate as there is no sufficient exchange of oxygen which needs the body to increase the heart rate.
This is further complicated by Obesity and so on.
Hence I would advise you the following.
Consult your Specialist and do all the other relevant tests for chest, heart and all.
If you exert, the heart rate will be automatically raise.
Anemia is another reason.
You need to consult your Specialists of chest called Pulmonologist and other to ascertain the cause so that an appropriate management can be done.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
