Hello sir, My wife has high TLC I.e. 13.10 and 15.60 for tests. These tests were done with a gap of 4 days.pls suggest what can be the reason. Her other parameters such as urine test and thyroid are fine.pls suggest what can be the reason. She is fine otherwise and has no problem..thanks
Thanks for contacting HCM with your health concern and following is symptomwise approach:
1. degree of elevation of TLC count is known as Leukaemoid reaction and reflects the response of normal healthy bone marrow to various stresses (in absence of any disease) otherwise common causes are: . disseminated tuberculosis or any severe infection . malignancy (breast, lung, kidney) . severe hemolysis . application of cytokines.
2. Yoh should consult a Hematologist to interpret more accurately the report and he will guide you better and may check other blood parametres like CBC & Peripheral blood film to exclude any bone marrow disease.
