Hi My iron level is 9 I am not getting iron injections because iron liquid spar tone and iron pills don't work we suspect a stomach ulcer but yet to have a endoscope how ever I have noticed I salivate after eating and it becoming more frequent what dose it mean
Thanks for your query . There can be many reason for excessive salivation . But in your case it seems to me that acidity will be the probable cause of ulcers and excessive salivation.
When acidity occur in stomach body produce excessive saliva to neutralize the effect of acid . This is the reason why there is excessive salivation after eating .
Iron supplement is not known to cause such effects .
I would suggest you to avoid eating spicy and heavy meals , take frequent and light meals and eat at least one hour before going to bed.
Consult gastroenterologist for proper evaluation and treatment. Doctor may prescribe antacids like gelusil and H2 blocker like ranitidine for reducing acidity.
Take ibuprofen(if not allergic) or acetaminophen for pain.
