What Does Excessive Blinking Of The Eyes By An Infant Indicate?

Dear Dr. My 1 year old will periodically blink only 1 eye ( his right eye), sometimes when he blinks that same eye will blink slightly before the other, other times the right eye will slightly twitch on its own. And then there are times where they both blink on track. Other than that there is no squinting, no droopy eye, and lazy eye does not run in our family. It is something I have been noticing more and more here lately, last month or so maybe. Does this sound like it could something as simple as a lazy eye, or possibly something more? If so, what? Thank you! Stephanie D.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

* As per my clinical experience, this does not sound to be of pathologic importance. But still an ophthalmologist clean cheat after physical examination is recommended here.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
