What Does Excessive Weight Loss Along With Nausea And Dizziness Indicate?

54 year old white male, smoker, recovering alcoholic (nothing since July), no current meds: has lost 30 pounds in 2 months without trying, nausea, dizziness, difficulty urinating and moving bowels, muscle aches (whole body) and spasms in arms, legs, back, shoulders, hot flashes and chills, but no temp, some difficulty breathing. He has no insurance. where do we start?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

He might be suffering from vitamin B12 deficiency which is very common in alcoholics. They are available in injectable form also. Since there is history of excessive weight loss and smoking, there is also a possibility of malignancy. Hence, I would recommend a full body check-up which includes chest X-ray, CT abdomen, Blood picture, urine C/S, KFT and LFT.
