What Does Fasting Blood Sugar Level Of 100 Suggest?
hi, I am khush, 43years old, male,on 11th june,2010 i examined my blood sugar test which reveals that fasting is 100mg/dl and P.P is 217 mg/dl. my query is that i want to know whether i am diabetic or not, should i start medication or not, or do more physical labour and stop all types of carbohydrates.
Dear sir i can understand your concern. in my opinion you might be in the early stage of diabetes. but i suggest you to check a test called Hba1c% for better analysis of the condition Hba1c% greater than 6.5% is considered as diabetes.
i would like to tell you regarding diagnostic criteria of diabetes he diagnosis of diabetes requires one of the following:
• A random glucose level > 200 mg/dL in a markedly symptomatic patient(symptoms like increased urination,thirst,weight loss,blurred vision and non healing ulcers.
in my opinion its advisable to do lifestyle changes for 1 month and recheck your blood sugar, daily exercise for 45min and control diet. meet a dietitian for better advice. regards
