What Does Fasting Blood Sugar Level Of 125 Indicate?

Hi, I am currently taking one amaryl 2 mg before breakfast and one glycomet 500 after breakfast and oner glycomet 500 after dinner. My fasting sugar is 125 and post breakfast it is 196. Are these glucose levels okay ? Should i change my medicine / dose ? My age is 44 years.

Hello,
Your sugars are slightly higher than we would prefer. We would like your fasting sugars to be less than 120 and your after meal sugars to be less than 150. Also your optimal Hemoglobin A1c would be less than 7. If you have not had the HgbA1c done ask your doctor to do that test and he or she can make medication suggestions based upon the result
