What Does Fatigue Along With Weakness In The Legs Indicate?

Hi, can I answer your health question? Please type your question here... I have a 10 year old daughter. Seems lately she complains of “just being tired” a lot. She’s also lately had complaints of something that sounds like hot flashes. And leg weakness. Should I be concerned?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

In a ten-year-old, fatigue and weakness in legs are most likely due to iron deficiency. Most likely she is suffering from iron deficiency called anemia. I would advise you to get her complete blood profile done along with hemoglobin levels. If confirmed, then she may have to take an iron supplement for a few months. Meanwhile, give her a diet rich in iron, like green vegetables, spinach, dates etc.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
