What Does Fluttering Sensation In The Abdomen Indicate?

I have had the copper IUD for about 3 months and my periods have been regular. Today I ve started feeling fluttering feelings in my tummy that feel like kicks and its freaking me out! There s no way I could be pregnant if I have regular periods and have the IUD is there? Is this just a side effect feeling the flutters??

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Possibility of pregnancy is very very less. But better to get done ultrasound examination to rule out pregnancy. Another possibility is stress and anxiety. Anxiety can cause similar fluttering sensations. So avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm. Don't worry, you will be alright but first rule out pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
