What Does Focal Asymmetry Anterior/central Position Of The Right Breast Indicate?

Had my routine mammogram a week ago and I got a phone that they had to do future xrays. the doctor sent me an order for the following right breast additional views and ultrasound plus DX: focal asymmetry anterior/central position of the right breast. Is this something that I have to be really concerned about or is this routine?

Thanks for your question on HCM. I need to kbow your age first. In young females due to hormone changes breast tissue chsnges happen and this can be seen as asymetry on mammo. Other things are lipomas, dermoids, cyst, nodule or mass can be seen as asymetry. Abnormalities in breast varies with age greatly. Asymetry in old age, malignancy is more likely. In young age it is mostly due to lipoma or benign cyst. So follow your doctor s advice ang confirm the diagnosis.
